In a world full of books and online resources, it is hard not to get information paralysis. There are SO MANY ARTICLES out there on how to make money and how to become a millionaire by doing nothing.

When you visit this website, I want you to know that you will NOT find any articles about getting-rich-quick or somehow beating the system by finding a loophole. My job is not to sell you a dream; it’s to help you figure out your next move by encouraging you and providing you with factual information.

I hate to break it to you, but you cannot wish to be rich if you are not willing to pick up a book or two. You cannot be rich if your only aspiration is to win the lottery. You cannot be rich if you do not have the proper education, and I am not referring to college.

With that said, let’s get into the five money-making books you should definitely read this 2020!

I Will Teach You to be Rich — Second Edition by Ramit Sethi

I read this book while I was in the jacuzzi in one of the most beautiful resorts of the Dominican Republic in 2019. Yes, this is an important fact, just keep reading.

This book literally teaches people how to get rich by changing their habits and the way they think about money. From mindset to credit and debit cards, Ramit explains what we are doing wrong, which in my case, was a lot. One of the chapters explains how to book flights and hotels without having to spend your own hard-earned money with the magic of using the proper credit cards and the points we earn by buying stuff we have to purchase anyway. I read this chapter from the jacuzzi after spending a few thousand on flights and my suite.

He also teaches people how to invest their money so that it can continue to grow, how to negotiate EVERYTHING, the banks you need to avoid, how to avoid fees (yes, fees), and much more. This book is life-changing.

Broke Millennial Takes On Investing: A Beginner’s Guide to Leveling Up Your Money by Erin Lowry

Millennial? Check.

Broke? Double-check.

Don’t know how to invest? Triple-check

We can all agree with the fact that the word “investing” is terrifying for those who don’t invest, and for those who do but still have no idea what they’re doing.

This book introduces millennials to the concept of NOT living paycheck-to-paycheck and staying on top of their finances while living with debt and with the dreaded “B” word (budget).

Got student loans? Erin has your back. Want to make better financial choices with your partner? She got you.

What I love the most about this book is the fact that it contains relatable stories that will not put you to sleep, and Erin takes “boring” topics and turns them into engaging narratives that will help you realize how important this topic is.

The 10 Pillars of Wealth by Alex Becker

I’ve written about this book before, but I want to cover it again because the more I read it, the more information syncs in. Yes, I re-read books.

This book is very straight forward. Alex covers the 10 pillars and explains each one of them. The first pillar is accepting the fact that getting rich quick is nonsense. The only way to get rich quick is by winning the lottery- and you still need to wait to receive your money.

The second pillar is that you must separate time from money because when you trade time for money and decide to stop working for whatever reason, you are no longer getting paid. This means that you are worth the number of hours you work, and this must change.

The other 8 pillars are about making more money (and how), planning your money moves, and tweaking your mindset, along with other things you must do in order to obtain wealth.

How to Write the Perfect Resume: Stand Out, Land Interviews, and Get the Job You Want by Dan Clay

People have this misconception; the only way to get rich is to create a business.

That’s wrong. People can get wealthy by working for somebody else, doing a job they enjoy in a company they love. In order to do this, you need to tweak your resume to make it almost irresistible for hiring managers.

This book will teach you just that. Instead of investing in a super expensive online course or wasting time attending seminars, you can obtain that knowledge by grabbing this book.

Not only does Dan give you resume templates that you can use, but he also goes in-depth about the mistakes you must avoid when creating your resume, what action statements you should use, how to create the perfect balance, and more.

People who have read this book have landed jobs at Google and other high-end companies.

Empowered Affluence by Elenny Frometa (yours truly)

Hi there! That’s me! And I promise I will try to sound as unbiased as possible about my review of my own book. (just kidding. My book is great).

This book was written in order to defeat the wage gap by teaching women negotiation skills to get a raise. Step-by-step instructions to launch a successful business from scratch. How to make and save more money. How to work on their mindsets to improve their financial lives. And much more!

What I love the most about my book is the fact that there are worksheets towards the end of it, so the only way to complete the book is by filling out the worksheets, which kind of forces you to become accountable and reconsider your actions.

I hope you enjoyed this short list of life-changing books, and that you’ll be coming back for more!
